Regardless of
how powerful the air purifier, negative ions can only travel about "one
room's" distance from where they are produce. This is due to the fact
that negative ions live for only 30 seconds. In which case, they can travel
only up to about 300 sq. ft. at the most. As a result, the only way to ionize
all or most of the home is to place an ionizer in every, or nearly every room.

the room-sized Surround Air Ionizer model. Plus, they are manufactured and
sold world-wide, allowing even better economies of scale. Most ozone/negative
ion air purifier manufacturers primarily promote and produce larger units.
Since they do not produce nearly as many smaller or room-sized units, they
cannot make them cost-effectively.
